Officer Peter Chunn has long been the man you could count on to have your back and keep you safe. The Port St. Lucie Police Officer and father of two was just 39 a few months ago when he was diagnosed with a cancerous congenital germ cell tumor in his chest. Currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment in preparation for an upcoming surgery, Officer Chunn, who is normally protecting everyone else’s life, has been unable to work since August. After seven years on the beat for the citizens of Port St. Lucie, it’s time for the community to come to the aid of one of its finest community servants. Triple Play for Taylor
As you know, the Van Duzer Foundation likes to mix things up when we throw a fundraising party. It’s not going to be any different this time around as we pull out all the stops for 14 year-old Taylor Montpetit – a Fort Pierce resident with a serious illness. For most of his young life, Taylor has been battling Primary Immune Deficiency (PID) – an illness which leaves him unable to participate in many activities that would be considered normal for a child of his age, and one that leaves him exceptionally vulnerable to infections and illnesses which can become life-threatening. As of this writing, the family is also awaiting a possible diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis in addition to the PID.
